We were looking for a low temperature heat transfer oil with low viscosity and good pumpability. We tried Relatherm LT in one unit and it worked quite well. We have since converted two other units with excellent results. No regrets whatsoever.
I switched our boilers to Relatherm Food Grade Hot Oil, because we were dealing with a lot of carbon deposits with our old Paratherm NF Oil. Since the changeover, we have had no sludge in our tank and infrequent oil changes.
Our thermolator was typically full of sludge within a few months with the old oil. We were running pretty hot and did not have a Nitrogen blanket. Since I switched to Relatherm PAG, I have been running the units 50% longer than I used to, and I am not coking up the thermolator.
Before the new line was commissioned, I contacted five heat transfer oil manufacturers, you guys provided the best technical support and the most comprehensive package include pre-commissioning and post-commissioning fluid life cycle services. A few of my technicians were new, so we definitely needed someone to hold our hand. We ended up filling our jacketed tanks with Relatherm FG-2. So far, so good. No issues to report, it is running great.
It has been 6 months since we introduced Relatherm UHT at our plant. I particularly like it because of the super high maximum operating temperature that it affords our process. Because we can operate the reactors at 740OF, we have been able to optimize our yields by 35%. Asides that, I like Relatherm’s responsiveness. I always get an answer right away. A bigger supplier that we bought from in the past made us wait for weeks before responding to our emails and voice mails. That’s why we sought you guys out.
I ordered two barrels of Relatherm MT 18 months ago for our blow molding machine and reordered another barrel for an older machine that we refurbished this year. Your heat transfer fluid has been awesome. The last time I took a sample it was still a clear liquid. No discoloration whatsoever. I find that impressive.
The chiller in our CBD Oil extraction skid currently uses Relatherm S-1. It chills down to -40 OF without any qualms. Haven’t noticed oxidation or browning of the fluid. We previously used a popular silicone fluid which cost an arm and a leg. Relatherm S-1 is cost effective and it gets the job done. I recommend it to my industry contacts for cannabis oil extraction from time to time.
Line 7A was pretty clogged when we reached out to you guys. We were using UCONTM 500 and that stuff just sludged up our loop. When your Engineer told us we could clean out the sludge, I did not believe him. We tried RelaClean SC cleaner and the result was evident after two hours. The cleaning job was excellent. We will be restarting that line in the summer and my preference will be to fill with Relatherm PAG.
Relatherm HT-3 has been our best hot oil yet. And we have tried a few from your other suppliers. It is thermally stable, especially at high temperature. The issue we had with our old thermal fluid that was the formation of light ends as we ramp up to 550OF. The additional vapor pressure triggered our sensors, and this caused a lot of downtime. With Relatherm HT-3, we seem to have overcome that problem. We have reduced downtime from the temperature controllers by 80%.
We use Relatherm O for tank heating in our serpentine coils. The biodiesel in our tanks stays fluid even on the coldest winter day. I also noticed that I get less calls these days for pump seal and gasket failures. The hot oil we used in the past ate through our seals and we had to replace it quite often. With Relatherm O, we have not changed a seal all year long.
I love your same day shipping service. Relatherm operates like Amazon and that’s amazing in an industrial setting. I stopped keeping a lot of inventory since I switched to Relatherm. That’s because I know I can always get what I need I real-time and it will be here in no time.
Your Engineer asked me a few questions and took time to explain my thermal fluid options to me. I immediately got the impression that he knew his stuff and was willing to help and provide expert advice. I have spoken to other Tech. Support guys at other thermal fluid companies and they are not as helpful or knowledgeable. Keep it up guys.
Our Maintenance Supervisor has nothing but praise for Relatherm HT-2. During our last maintenance planning meeting, he told us about the oxidation resistance of the fluid and how well it’s holding up in our extruder. We are fouling less and running longer with Relatherm HT-2.
We used Therminol 66 for 15 years but we did not have great technical support. When Relatherm came in with a chemically equivalent heat transfer fluid at a fraction of the price we paid in the past combined with a suite of complimentary technical support services, it was a no-brainer. Since we converted our lines to Relatherm VHT, we have saved 35% on our thermal fluid expenses. Most importantly, your Engineers are just a call away. We also like your free ThermoFluid Care Program
My interactions with Relatherm went exceptionally well. I needed a custom heat transfer fluid together for a novel reactor that I was working on. None of the other vendors were interested in helping me but Relatherm worked with me and developed a customized solution within 2 weeks.
The difference in performance between our old CalFlo Fluid and our new Relatherm PAG Flud is as clear as night and day. I used to change the old oil every 3 months because it would turn really dark and highly viscous. I have now gone 11 months with Relatherm and the oil is not even discolored. The last oil analysis you guys did for us show a really low TAN and decent viscosity. Going with Relatherm was a great choice.
RelaClean has reduced our thermal oil changes and maintenance shutdowns significantly. It’s nice to be able to clean varnishes off the pipe while I run. My Production Manager is pleased that I don’t have to take thermolator out of service as often as I used to.
We like Relatherm FG-1 because it is non-toxic and non-hazardous. Two years ago, we had a pipe leak and the synthetic fluid that we had at the time released toxic fumes into the plant. That incident sent two of my technicians to the hospital. With the Relatherm oil that we have now, we don’t ever have to worry about that.
I can confirm that Relatherm PAG lasts way longer and forms no gunk. I mean compared to UCON, yours is a better fluid. I use it in an open bath, exposed to air– no problem! Back in the day we struggled with varnish formation and carbon build-up. That’s now history with Relatherm PAG.
